omimouseI need to see about getting a bag of wingnuts. At this point, only one of the heavy scroll frames for cross-stitching that we have can be used. This is because we only have enough wingnuts for both of them, and one of the wingnuts is stripped out to the point that it's unusable.
And the embroidory hoops are hell to work with.

catchild's light scroll frame. It's fairly small. I'm having to compromise between having enough tension across the fabric and not breaking the dowel rods. That, and cursing whatever demented mind came up with metallic threads. They're absolutely stunning to look at. They're also all but guaranteed to make the stitcher promise their soul to the Devil if only he'll make the damn thread behave. Hell, maybe that's where they came from.
In any case, Puppy's Sinterklaas present is finished. I am now working on Bear-Cub's. They've both been oohhing and aahing over the cross-stitched bookmarks, so I'm doing one for each of them.
