Cross-Stitching and Activisim
Nov. 9th, 2004 09:13 amI finally managed to finish
warinbear's birthday present yesterday. I cross-stitched a bookmark for him. Three green, blue, and black eight-pointed stars on a white background. Now I'm working on
ebonunicorn's present. And his birthday is today.
-sigh-
And, to top it all off, for some reason his present isn't fighting back the way Warin's was.
I'm also thinking about doing some activist cross-stitching. With the right materials, you can attatch a piece to a pin, or to the little suction-cup thingies that you stick to glass. This leaves me looking for good, short sentences, as well as good images to use. I have a few ideas running through my head, but nothing solid yet. The one I'm most likely to start up on are red, pink, and blue ribbons. AIDS, breast cancer, and free speech, respectively. Don't know how much I'll be asking for them, but I know that a portion of each sale will be going to a corresponding organization.
Feel free to pass ideas on to me. Heck, feel free to commission a message or image you want, and the format you want it in. Wherever possible, I'll be donating some of the sale to an organization involved with the message or image.
