omimouse: Digital painting of a mouse wielding a spear (Default)

Self-identification in the inner-landscape is an interesting thing. Astrid is almost always either a very large black panther or a 5'8" woman in her mid-twenties with long black hair and green eyes. Naomi is almost always either a small brown mouse, or the body as she would like it to be. (More muscular, clearer skin, feathered rainbow wings, and a long, prehensile mouse tail)

When perceived form deviates from these norms, it is almost always a sign of extreme anger or rage. (Yes, there is a difference. Anger lasts a day at most. Rage can and usually does burn for years.) Even then, the different forms are always the same. Astrid will have feathered wings, armor, and a sword that is exactly at the upper end of what she can wield without difficulty. All are wreathed in flame hot enough that the core is white. Naomi becomes a wolverine. Anthro or four-limbed, it is always some variant on a wolverine. Temprament included.

This self-identification continues into all magical workings. These forms are how we see our true Selves to be.

Whiling away a rainy day by introspection . . .
