My mind can't grasp the number. One hundred and twenty thousand is an abstract, a set of syllables assigned to an arbitrary value. It leaves a dull, numb feeling in my soul to think of that many dead, that many killed by one disaster.
I'm going to be dropping money into a donation box or something when
catchild and I head out today. It's not much, but it's what I've got available to give.
Don't feel guilty if you don't have any to give. I've been there myself, been where there literally weren't pennies to spare. On the other hand, if you've got even a few cents that you can reasonably spare, every little bit adds up.
I think I need to go remind myself that, selfish as it may seem, I didn't loose anyone to this.
