Feb. 5th, 2010 11:54 pmStill here, just trying to get something of a handle on my emotional state. As in, I found myself in near panic attack status when we got a notice from the local library that we owed $3 on an overdue book.
Mind you, having worked in a library before, this reaction is not entirely without precedent. -coughs-

Date: 2010-02-06 04:59 pm (UTC)If you have health insurance, see if you can get a referral to a talk therapist. Seriously. Doesn't matter if you never need one after the kid is a year old, you need one till then.

Date: 2010-02-06 10:18 pm (UTC)One day I was standing in the living room trying to get my stuff together to go out the door. Get my keys, put them by the door so I won't forget them, go to find my purse, then I can't find my keys. I knew the forgetfulness was from the pregnancy, but I suddenly flipped out and stood in the middle of the living room crying and hyperventilating, convinced that I was going to be that scatter brained for the rest of my life, and that was just completely overwhelming.
It does pass. Unfortunately, not until some time after the baby is born. If yours gets really severe like mine did, they may want to put you on a mild antidepressant. They have plenty that are safe for you and baby and also can be taken while breast feeding to compete PPD.
