Paul Alexander Montgomery III was found guilty today. 9 counts of rape of a child.
Sentencing will be September 23. His bail was revoked, and he was led out of the courtroom in cuffs and leg irons.
I will go into more detail when I get back to my computer in WV, but I will add the detail that his wife, Holly Montgomery, was called as a witness for the defense.
As her testimony included the statement that she had 'about 100 personalities', we can safely say that it was a thing of beauty that the reporter sitting in the courtroom likely peed himself with glee over.

Date: 2009-08-14 09:59 pm (UTC)About a year ago, she told me if he was convicted, she'd kill herself. Sadly, that's too long ago for me to do anything with in regards to contacting police down there. I don't want to see her dead; ideally, I want to see her get help and get well, as unlikely as that is.
If you saw my LJ post about all this, I somewhat pushed myself away. She told me over IM that she knew Bearcub was Ebon's "type". I wanted to give her time to do the right thing, but once she started to say that she thought it happened but Bearcub was lying about who it was because she hated Ebon -- yeah, no. Friendship or no, I can't stand by after something like that is said and watch innocents be hurt further. :(
I hope she understands why I did what I did, but I don't think she and reality are on speaking terms at all at this point.
