So, yesterday evening I got to hear my husband repeat, over and over, "I've never seen a system as borked as this" and, "That shouldn't even be *possible*"

Yeah.

So, what the non-techie recalls is that apparantly a nuke went off in my registry, a 'kernel32' error, safe mode having issues, last known good configuration not working, repairing from the Windows disc not working, Louis doing something from something called the console and that not working, a full nuke and pave not working . . .

He can't get my system to stay up and running right now, is what it boils down ti. He says he thinks there's actual physical damage in there at this point.

Meaning I'm effectively without a computer until we can afford to get me a new bare bones system, which will be about $300. Not as bad as getting me a whole new computer, mind you. But still, something that we can't even begin to look at until after the trial at this point. And we're not even sure when we'd be able to afford it after that.

I can be forgiven for my strong opinion that TN has a corrosive and destructive influence on our lives, I hope.

Sounds like a dying power supply, love. I've had two different machines exhibit those kinds of symptoms, and they both turned out to be PSUs that were failing. *hugs* Hopefully it can get fixed soon; being without a machine -sucks-.
