That's actually quite similar to the way I usually describe my beliefs. I think I'll borrow some of your phrasing; I especially like the bit about "I'm an adult, She won't carry me around like a child." One of the memes in Christianity that I truly despise is the one that says we are all God's children and never grow up -- that God is always available to pick us up and carry us when things get tough. Lean on, cry on, be held and supported by, those are things you can expect from an adult partner. Be picked up and carried along, like that piece of glurge talks about? That's wanting to go back to being a baby in your parents' arms. And I like being an adult, TYVM.
