Yeah, the police have been contacted. The neighbour's behoaviour over the next week or two will determine whether the police can actually do anything other than have the beginnings of a paper work trail.

We will also be checking our fenceline rather thoroughly for a while. I swear I saw him dropping stuff a few yards in on his side while he was driving along the fenceline. Right now, I wouldn't put it past him to try and bait Sadie onto his land so he can legally shoot her. Or to be dropping poisoned meat for our cats.

Trying to bait Sadie is more likely. She's the one he actively threatened. However, we have now found her. As soon as it's not so wet outside, she'll be going back out. On a long chain, with her nice clean doghouse close by, under one of the shade trees. Until then, she's inside. We're also going to be building a large enclosure around the chicken barn at some point in the future so that we don't have to keep her on the chain.

Then again, we'll also be taking her for walks at least once a day, and bringing her inside when it gets too wet or hot outside for her. So she's not just going to go out on the chain and get forgotten about.
