Jul. 24th, 2009 10:57 pmObtained new AC unit. Started trying to remove old. Wound up applying a rubber mallet.
Discovered hornet nest was in residence. Husband got off lucky; he only got stung 2-3 times. It being after dark, the only reason we even know it was hornets is because they started swarming the side porch light afterwards.
So, tomorrow evening we will be playing 'spray the nest from as far away as possible'. Maybe.
AC unit is going in a different window, assuming it will fit. (Looks like it will, though it'll be close.) If the AC unit will fit into that window, we will leave the damn nest alone if we can until after there has been a freeze and the fuckers die or hibernate or *something*. Then we will spray it (just to be safe) and remove the fucking thing a day after that.
