Planting List
Mar. 23rd, 2008 02:45 pmHokay, currently planted: Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, two apple saplings, spaghetti squash, lettuce, sugar snap peas, onions, and broccoli. Garlic gets pulled up in another month or two, depending on how the bulbs are coming along.
To be planted later this week: Oregano, parsley, dill, cucumbers, spinach, and regular squash.
Needs to have beds prepped for it so it can go in after the soil's had a chance to warm: Green beans, corn, a bush tomato, a cantaloupe/melon type hybrid, basil, marjoram, sage, rosemary, and thyme.
Need to have beds prepped for so they can go in or warm as needed but I don't know which 'cause they're still in the mail: Carrots, two more types of tomato (one of which will need cages), cantaloupe, and blackberries.
This summer/fall will see a great clearing of the kitchen and the freezers, I think. One of those tomato types was also specially bred for sauce making, so I'm either going to learn how to can or I'm going to get freezer safe containers for it and freeze it in large amounts.
I am also disgustingly cheerful, chipper, and the phrase 'I could lick thirty tigers today' is lurking somewhere in my hindbrain. I'm gonna grab this while I can; summer will be here soon enough, heralding the retreat of the active Mouse.
