Focus for Anger Now Officially Needed
Preferably before I lose the capability to speak in a coherent fashion.
This little piece of legeslation (and I damn near choked myself calling that) is up before Congress now.
Summation? A bill to permit a 2/3 majority in Congress and the Senate to override the Supreme Court.
Anger is energy. When used constructively, it is useful. I just need to avoid falling into the trap of letting it control me.
Pass it on, folks. People need to know about this.

Article III, section 2 includes the following text: "In all cases affecting ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, and those in which a state shall be party, the Supreme Court shall have original jurisdiction. In all the other cases before mentioned, the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make."
So it seems to me that congress could say "The supreme court has no jurisdiction on questions of constitutionality of acts of congress", but once the court has ruled on something I don't see that this authorizes congress to retroactively go back and revoke jurisdiction. Shrug.
The circular nature of this, of course, is the fun part.
Congress: Let's vote to give ourselves the ability to overturn the court! All in favor? It's Unanimous!
Supreme Court: Hey! That's not constitutional. You have no power to do that.
Congress: All in favor of overturning those fools? It's Unanimous! I guess we do have constitutional authority after all.
SC : No you don't.
C: Yes we do.
[etc]
Sigh.
