A day late on the uptake here, but we finally have internet at the house.
That only took about 2 months and 6 cable companies all passing the 'who has service out here' buck. Comcast took about 6 weeks to finally decide that they didn't service the area, and assured us that the first cable company we'd called was in fact who ran service in our area. First cable company (Armstrong) assured us that their tech said they did not. (Translation: "I don't want to run line up that driveway, so it's outside of our service area.")
Phone company got us set up with DSL inside of two weeks. Hallelujah.
-falls over- So, what's been going' on?

There's some celebration going on over the one-by-one-we're- getting-it-done of the states legalizing and endorsing gay rights/marriages. (Nevada just joined that group! Which counterbalances the fact that they've decided to balance the budget for the millions in the state, on the backs of the few state workers.) California is still backwards, AND they are trying to balance their budget's woes by cutting even deeper into their state workers paychecks...
Other than that- I'd say things had been fairly quiet, though I'm certain I'm missing something...
Oh yeah, and somebody was wrong on the Internet.
