In a similar vein, I've found that it helps to remember that no matter what you do or who you are, there's someone out there who'll totally agree with you, and someone who'll despise you for it. So just be the kind of person you think you ought to be, and nevermind the always-mixed opinions. Just as you can't make an individual bigot like you, you can't make all of humanity agree on ... anything. Especially not what or who you should be.
